Neuro-affirming, individualised ADHD assessment and diagnosis for adults

I take pride in following the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidelines for ADHD assessment, with multidisciplinary input, in line with the NHS. My ADHD assessments use a range of ‘gold standard’, internationally recognised diagnostic tools to provide a detailed, comprehensive and individualised assessment of your strengths and difficulties. I take a neuro-affirming approach, recognising that every individual has their own unique strengths, ways of thinking, and ways of experiencing the world.

Please note:

  • I work from a psychological perspective and cannot prescribe medications for ADHD. If this is something you are looking for, I recommend booking your assessment with a psychiatrist or nurse prescriber.
  • If you are seeking an assessment funded by the NHS, you may need to speak to your GP about local providers or the ‘right to choose’ referral scheme.
  • I only offer assessments for adults currently.

ADHD Diagnostic Assessment Guide: information for adults

1. Referral

Simply contact us to refer yourself and book a screening appointment.

2. Screening appointment – 60 minutes, £150

I will send out screening measures to be returned before your first appointment. We will meet to discuss the screening measures and to get some background information about what has led you to seek an ADHD assessment.

3. Next steps

If a full ADHD assessment is indicated, we will book in the full assessment. If I think that an alternative assessment / diagnosis / treatment is more appropriate, I will provide advice on next steps.

4. ADHD assessment – 3 hours, £1400 (includes full assessment, comprehensive feedback and detailed, bespoke report and recommendations)

We will meet for a total of approximately 3 hours (you can decide whether to do this in one go, or separate one hour appointments) to conduct the diagnostic interview and QBCheck (a computerised task which measures ADHD traits). You are welcome to bring a family member or close friend / partner to the assessment.

5.Feedback session (45 minutes)

We will meet again after approximately 2 weeks to discuss the outcome of the assessment and your personal profile of symptoms, difficulties and strengths.

6.Report

You will receive a detailed report, summarising the outcome of all assessment measures, an overview of your strengths and difficulties, and recommendations for useful resources, strategies and, if indicated, further treatment or input that might be beneficial. If you require a condensed report for work or education purposes, this can be provided.
